I grew up in Fair Oaks California along the American River. From 1972 to 1976 I served my country in the United States Navy. While in the Navy I had the opportunity to visit over 26 different countries. I experienced many diverse cultures and standards of living, mostly of the extremely poor. I worked for IRS and many other private small businesses. I also taught SCUBA Diving for a brief time. I have served my fellow workers and the public for 36 years as a Radiation Protection Technologist. I’ve studied martial arts for about 20 years. I am currently retired after 42 years (total) of public service. I've served my community as an Ambassador for the Self Help and Resource Exchange in San Diego as well as collecting and distributing food for the poor. I served my community on a local neighborhood beautification project. I began the Oakley Community Gardens project in the spring of 2012. I am currently serving my community as Chairperson on the Citizens Advisory Committee, for the City of Oakley, at the Contra Costa County Transportation Authority ensuring compliance with the Growth Management Plan Compliance Checklist for return to source tax dollars. I am currently working on the Emergency Services Additional Revenue District as a way to fully fund our East Contra Costa Fire Protection district.
